Daily basic maintenance is the first line of defense for ensuring normal equipment operation. First, the condition of core components must be checked regularly: Engine oil, as the "blood" of the generator set, needs to be checked weekly to ensure the oil level is within the standard range and tested monthly for oil quality. If it turns black or emulsifies, it must be replaced immediately to prevent component wear; the coolant level and purity directly affect heat dissipation, so the level must be sufficient, and softened water must be used to prevent scale buildup and pipe blockage; the fuel system needs to be checked regularly for leaks, and impurities in the fuel tank and filter should be cleaned to prevent fuel injector malfunctions due to fuel contamination. Meanwhile, the generator set's exterior should be inspected daily, including cleaning dust from the heat sinks and tightening wiring connections to ensure they are free of looseness and corrosion.

Regular deep maintenance is key to extending equipment lifespan. Bofa Power recommends a comprehensive maintenance check every 500 hours of generator set operation: replace the oil filter, fuel filter, and air filter to ensure effective oil and air filtration; check belt tension, replacing belts promptly if aging or cracking is observed to prevent transmission failure; clean and test the generator stator and rotor for insulation to prevent short circuits; and calibrate the accuracy of instruments and sensors to ensure real-time data feedback. For generator sets kept on standby for extended periods, they should be started and run for 30 minutes monthly to allow oil circulation and lubrication of components, preventing seal aging and battery drain due to prolonged inactivity.

Targeted maintenance under special conditions is equally important. In high-temperature regions, it is necessary to strengthen the maintenance of the heat dissipation system, clean the heat dissipation channels, and check the fan operation status to prevent the unit from overheating and shutting down. In humid environments, electrical components need to be regularly treated for moisture protection, rust inhibitors should be applied, and dehumidification equipment should be installed to prevent short circuits. In cold regions, antifreeze coolant needs to be replaced in winter, insulation devices should be installed, and the engine body should be preheated before starting to prevent fuel from solidifying and components from freezing and cracking due to low temperatures. In addition, biogas and gas generator sets require extra attention to the fuel purification system, with regular replacement of desulfurization and dehydration devices to ensure fuel purity and prevent engine corrosion.
